Tests and Data

Available Tests

  • CCAB tests are more valid, precise, and sensitive than existing manual or computerized cognitive tests.

  • The CCAB includes 31 tests and 5 questionnaires, which can be configured into custom sequences to meet researchers’ testing needs.

  • CCAB users have access to NBS normative data; ~27,000 individual CCAB tests have been collected from over 450 participants (as of 4/2022).

  • Many gold-standard tests of memory and cognition rely on verbal response accuracy.

    Our verbal task offerings include:

    • Bay Area Verbal Learning Test (BAVLT) / Recall

    • California Face-Name Association Memory Exam (C-FNAME) / Recall

    • Digit Span (Forward/Backwards)

    • Logical Memory / Recall

    • Picture Description / Recall

    • Picture Naming

    • Reading Aloud

    • Semantic Stroop

    • Story Reading

    • Stroop

    • Symbol-Number

    • Verbal Fluency

    • Vocabulary

  • Touchscreens provide considerable freedom in test design possibilities.

Our touchscreen-based spatial task offerings include:

    • Design Fluency

    • Figure Copy/Recall

    • Spatial Span

    • Trail Making

  • Our processing speed task offerings include:

    • Choice Reaction Time

    • Finger Tapping

    • Mental Rotation

    • Simple Reaction Time

  • Our sensory threshold tasks confirm that participants clearly perceive test stimuli.

    These include:

    • Auditory Screening

    • Visual Screening

    • Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) Calibration

  • Questionnaires provide important demographic and behavioral information. Our questionnaires include:

    • Cognitive Failures

    • GAD-7

    • GDS

    • FS20

    • Demographic questionnaire

These questionnaires help us learn about participant:

    • Demographics

    • Drug Use

    • Health

    • Mood

    • Psychological / Neurological Conditions

    • Socioeconomics

Data Sharing

CCAB users will have access to anonymized normative data, including trial-by-trial data, from all NBS administered CCAB tests. As of April 2022, this comprises over 27,000 tests, collected from over 450 participants. NBS data collection is ongoing and expanding.

Additionally, NBS plans to promote data sharing between CCAB users through optional participation in a CCAB-focused open science data sharing platform.

Custom Sequences

NBS works with researchers to create custom test sequences from our offering of cognitive tests.
