The CCAB Study

Participate In Our Ongoing Research

We’re working to implement remotely-administered diagnostic tools to measure cognition and memory. We could use your help.

Cognitive decline in old age affects everyone to some degree. However, limits in the sensitivity of existing cognitive tests impair our ability to detect small declines that may later become clinically significant.

We’re developing improved computerized tests to quantify normal age-related changes in performance to enable the earlier detection of potentially pathological changes. We believe these new assessments will decrease the cost, improve the sensitivity, and facilitate access to these increasingly vital tests.

We’re now recruiting healthy participants to help characterize the normal pattern of age-related changes in performance. You can help by signing up for CCAB testing in your home.

The Study

We are currently recruiting healthy participants to measure the changes in performance that occur with normal aging. Initially, scheduling priority will be given to participants from Alameda and Contra Costa counties.

All test sessions will take place in the comfort of your home. We coordinate delivery and pick-up of our sterilized test units from your residence.

Different experiments will vary in time-commitment (30 minutes to 2 hours), duration of study (single assessment to multi-year commitment), frequency of test sessions (single session, 3-month, 6-month, and yearly test sessions), and content (different experiments will include different tasks).

You will have the chance to choose the experiment that is right for you during our screening process — press the ‘Participate’ button below to begin.
