CCAB Features
-
Automated Testing and Scoring
The CCAB increases testing efficiency, as a single CCAB examiner can administer tests to 2-6 participants concurrently.
CCAB verbal tests are fully automated, with stimuli being delivered via standardized text-to-speech voices, and scored with consensus automatic speech recognition (CASR) that combines multiple ASR engines to maximize accuracy (see CASR below).
CCAB scoring occurs instantaneously; examiners see test scores in real time.
-
Remote Testing
CCAB tests are compatible for both at-home and in-lab testing.
The CCAB’s tele-medical examiner interface enables constant monitoring of participant test progress. Examiners are alerted to potential error conditions.
At-home testing facilitates recruitment of lab-averse populations (e.g. elderly, minorities, rural).
CCAB test kits are LTE enabled, thus eliminating the need for participants to connect to at-home wifi.
-
Consensus Automated Speech Recognition
Seven automatic speech recognition (ASR) engines produce automatic transcriptions of verbal test responses.
Transcriptions are algorithmically aligned to produce the best consensus ASR transcript, mean word timestamps, and consensus scores.
Transcriptions allow for instantaneous scorings to be provided to examiners while participants are still in-session.
-
Transcript Review Tool
A transcript review tool enables the rapid correction of words transcribed with low confidence.
-
Translations
Development of a Spanish language translation of the CCAB is ongoing, with data collection piloting anticipated to begin in July 2022.
